On Thursday, November 8th, ninety-five Thurgood Marshall Academy students visited
the Greater Washington DC National College Fair at the Washington Convention Center. Students spoke to college representatives
from over 200 schools across the country as well as representatives from international colleges and universities.
After having one-on-one conversations with the representatives and showing them their transcripts, many twelfth graders felt encouraged about their opportunities at the schools they are most interested in. Tenth and eleventh graders explored different college majors. At the end of the day, many of the students were really excited to have found programs that fit their interests.
The college representatives were very impressed by the number of Thurgood Marshall Academy students sent to the fair. "Whenever a student walks up to me in the TMA uniform," one shared, "I already have certain expectations of that student because of the reputation of TMA."
We wish all of our twelfth graders the best of luck as they apply to their schools of choice!
